On Tuesday afternoon, postseason play will kick off for fifth-seeded Syracuse as it takes on fourth-seeded Virginia in the quarterfinal round of the ACC Tournament. The Orange finished off the regular season with an overall record of 10-6 and a conference record of 2-4. The team finished off regular season play with a 2-1 loss in stroked following double overtime against Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons took a lead in the 17th minute, but Willemijn Boogert put in the equalizer in the 33rd minute. Abby Neitch made five saves in her home ACC debut but came up just short to suffer the loss.

The Cavaliers ended regular season play on a four-game win streak to bring the team's overall record to 11-4 and their ACC record to 3-3. The team's final regular season game resulted in a narrow 3-2 victory over James Madison on the road. Virginia had a 20-4 edge in shots and a 10-3 advantage in penalty corners. The Dukes got on the board first with a goal in the ninth minute, but Taryn Tkachuk tied things up with her first goal of the season. Laura Janssen gave the Cavs the lead in the 33rd minute with her first goal of the year. JMU tied things back up in the 46th minute, but Dani Mendez-Trendler scored the game-winner 10 minutes later. Tyler Kennedy made one save in net for the Cavaliers to earn the win. 

When Syracuse and Virginia played earlier this season, the game went into double overtime and resulted in a 3-2 win for Virginia. The game should be evenly matched and will likely be a battle until the final whistle.
